Tamarind found to remove fluoride deposits from bones

Fluoride is everywhere these days. Remove fluoride. Perhaps you’re one of the people whose municipal water contains this neurotoxin, or maybe you’re worried about exposure via toothpaste. Sodium fluoride accumulates in the body and the brain, and high levels can bring about neurological damage. It might seem like there isn’t much you can do about it, but the fruit of one tree might be able to save the day: tamarind.

This tropical evergreen tree is native to Africa, but it can now be found in places like Mexico, Australia, and South Asia. Pod-like fruits grow from these tall trees and, as they mature, they go from green and sour to brown and juicy with a sweet-and-sour pulp. It’s used in Indian cooking and also popular as a folk remedy.

The flavor of the fruit might not be to everyone’s liking, but its benefits can make it far more appealing. A study that was published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition showed that it can remove risky fluoride deposits from your bones. In the study, researchers discovered that healthy boys who consumed a third of an ounce of the fruit for just 18 days noted significant enhancements in their urinary excretion of fluoride. In another study, boys who were given tamarind to eat for just three weeks noted additional fluoride excretion compared to a control group.

That is good news for anyone who is concerned about the effects of fluoride, which are numerous and downright disturbing. It has been linked to everything from several types of cancer and reduced IQ to infertility, low thyroid function, and a debilitating bone disease.

Mother Nature’s micronutrient secret: Organic Broccoli Sprout Capsules now available, delivering 280mg of high-density nutrition, including the extraordinary “sulforaphane” and “glucosinolate” nutrients found only in cruciferous healing foods. Every lot laboratory tested. See availability here.

However, tamarind also provides another incredibly useful benefit: It can prevent and alleviate chronic diseases. Tamarind seed extract has been shown to target and kill inflammatory chemicals like interleukin, reducing joint pain, swelling and inflammation. This makes it quite useful or those who suffer from osteoarthritis.

In addition, its rich vitamin C content means it can boost immunity and help detoxify. It’s a good source of potassium, supporting healthy blood pressure, and it also helps prevent heart disease by removing excess LDL cholesterol from the veins and arteries in the body. It also promotes circulation and normalizes the levels of triglycerides in the blood. In addition, it boasts a significant iron content, helping to ward off anemia.

It can even be useful in the fight against obesity. Consuming it raises levels of the neurotransmitter serotonin, which controls weight as well as appetite. At the same time, its high fiber content helps curb out-of-control appetites and promotes digestion.

How can you get the benefits of tamarind?

If you have access to fresh tamarind, you can simply eat the fruit as it is. Be sure to seek the organic varieties. It can also be bought in slices, blocks, concentrate, or paste. In addition, you can buy the dried seed pods, which should be cracked open and boiled. If you go this route, the inner pulp should be dark brown, and the fruit should not smell bitter.

It’s important to note, however, that tamarind can thin your blood, so be careful if you take aspirin or other blood-thinning medications.

According to the Fluoride Action Network, many children now exceed the recommended daily fluoride intake just by using toothpaste. More than 50 studies have linked fluoride to lower IQ in children. If you are worried about fluoride exposure for you and your loved ones, tamarind could prove to be an essential part of your diet.

Most medicinal herbs contain many natural components that assist each other with producing a wide variety of good health results for all body types.

Organic herbs that regulate the body; in my opinion, have a coded intelligence to complete different functions on top of riding toxins. While our inner-being screams for repair, the actions of herbs are totally habitual and as precise as a dripping faucet, we only have to consume enough of the ones that correct. Whereas the effects of prescription-drugs can pack a sweeping first blow with quick results, long-term herbal use go much deeper in healing.

As I was plagued with headaches, the use of herbs not only eliminated the pain, but did away with the underlying activity causing the pain. We’ve all heard the saying, “pressure will burst a pipe”. Well this is also true when you create a healthy condition in an unhealthy environment, but take note, consistency and discipline must be respected to obtain the rewards of renewal.

Superfoods, Superherbs and Super Immunity

David Wolfe

Join David Wolfe on December16 for the live, interactive video course, “Raw Food and the Real World: How to Start a Rawvolution Every Day.”  In this one-time-only Evolver Intensives webinar, you can have your issues addressed and your questions answered by one of the world’s top authorities on natural health, nutrition, herbalism, and organic superfoods.

Your immune system is vast and complex. It is designed to detoxify your body as well as protect your body from illness and foreign invaders.

Harmful bacteria, viruses, calcium-forming micro-organisms, and candida are part of our world. Unfortunately, so are toxic chemicals, including everything from pesticides to car pollution to nuclear radiation to most municipal tap waters. In our world, these harmful micro-organisms and the endless list of toxic chemicals assault our immune system consistently. Coupled with these assaults are the daily stresses of life and their deleterious effects upon us.

All of these add up to a weakened immune system: colds and flus, coughs, fevers, chronic health problems, skin disorders, digestive distress, nervous conditions, chronic fatigue, and even cancer. When the body has too much to deal with, it stops being able to get rid of its waste efficiently and requires more support to help it fight off what is attacking it.

Fortunately, our immune system can be improved and empowered to such a point that not only can the harmful microbes be halted and the chemicals detoxified, but also a “stress defense shield” may be built up that can even drive off the effects of daily stress.

From my perspective it appears that a great thrust of research on health and longevity is pointing towards improving our immune system – that within an empowered immune system are the health solutions and longevity answers we’re looking for.

We all can learn more about how to empower our own immunity. I believe the best way to activate genius within the immune system is by ingesting certain superherbs and superfoods, taking probiotics and cultured foods, minimizing toxic food exposure by eating pure organic raw-living foods, and making appropriate healthy lifestyle improvements.

In 400 BC Hippocrates said, “Let food be your medicine and let medicine be your food.” Both aspects of this phrase must be considered – not just food as medicine, but also medicine as food – that means superfoods (the most nutrient-rich plant foods in the world) and tonic superherbs (herbs that can be taken regularly like food). Out of 40,000+ herbs used worldwide, perhaps only 50-60 of them are tonic superherbs. These superherbs should be taken for long periods, because, like all tonics, they are more like food and they build health treasures within and nourish our “stress defense shield.”

Whenever possible, try to include the following superfoods, superherbs, and super products in your daily regime:

Reishi Mushroom: Reishi is Queen of the Medicinal Mushrooms. Reishi is the most well-studied herb in the history of the world. She has been the most revered herbal mushroom in Asia for over 2,000 years. The Daoists consider Reishi an “elixir of immortality” that is celebrated for its ability to significantly improve the functioning of the immune system by protecting us from the onslaught of viruses, bacteria, unwanted guests, pollution, chemicals, molds, and the toxicity that we are often subjected to in our world. Reishi helps build up our “stress defense shield” creating feelings of well-being within, in spite of outer stresses.

Chaga Mushroom: Chaga is the King of the Medicinal Mushrooms. It contains the highest amounts of anti-tumor compounds of any herb. These compounds are in the form of betulin, betulinic acid, and lupeol, which are powerful anti-mutagenic compounds naturally present in the white part of the birch tree’s bark (in which the chaga typically grows). Chaga is also extremely high in nourishing phytochemicals, nutrients, and free-radical scavenging antioxidants, especially melanin. Chaga is second only to cacao (the chocolate nut) in antioxidant content. Chaga is the most powerful cancer-fighting herb known and fights all kinds of radiation damage to healthy tissue.

Gynostemma: According to the scientific herbal research being conducted in the People’s Republic of China, gynostemma has been identified as the most medicinal of all the Chinese herbs. It contains 120 saponins (immune modulating molecules that are fat soluble on one side of the molecule and water soluble on the other side) – all of which possess specific, dual-directional health-giving properties (e.g. if our immune system is down, these saponins can modulate it up; if our immune system is too far up, they can modulate the immune response down). Gynostemma is a true tonic, you can take it or make tea out of it nearly every day with benefits that accrue the more you consume it. Gypenoside 49 (49th of the 120 saponins) has been identified as a telomerase activator that youthens us genetically.

Ginseng: Known throughout the world for its amazing energy restoring and strength-building properties, ginseng is an adaptogen that helps our bodies “adapt” to stressful environmental conditions. Ginseng root can boost energy, induce mental alertness, improve the ratio of healthy hormones (thereby acting as a subtle aphrodisiac), and increase endurance. Ginseng also helps fight pain and alleviate radiation damage to healthy tissues.

Chlorella: Chlorella is a natural, green, micro-algae, superfood detoxifier. Chlorella is the highest chlorophyll containing plant in the world with 40 times the chlorophyll content of the best wheatgrass juice known. The chlorophyll binds with heavy metals and chemical toxins, helping to eliminate them from the brain and nervous system. Chlorella is also a complete protein source that contains youthening and rejuvenating growth factors.

Zeolites: Zeolites are a form of unique, volcanic mineral compounds with crystalline structures that form a sort of “cage.” This “cage” works like a magnet to attract heavy metals, chemicals, and other pollutants (e.g. radioactive isotopes), capturing them and allowing their easy removal (without being re-absorbed) from the body. Zeolites have been shown to have anti-viral and cancer-fighting effects.

Shilajit: Contains 80+ minerals and fulvic acid that assist in the removal of toxins, improve nutrition to cells and help restore electricity to the blood. Shilajit promotes the movement of minerals into muscle, tissue, and bone. It is an Ayurvedic mineral-herb with over 5,000 years of known human usage in the Himalayas. The word “shilajit” translates as “born of stone and destroyer of weakness.”

Astragalus Root: This chi-building root is one of the most potent immune tonics used to improve the lungs, strengthen muscles, increase metabolism, reduce stress, and strengthen the genetics. The first telomerase activator product to make it into the market is TA-65, an extract of astragalus.

Camu Camu Berry: This plant-derived Vitamin C source will super boost your immune system and help repair connective tissue. Botanical vitamin C sources (such as Camu) are coming into favor in preference over synthetic ascorbic acid products due to their complete array of vitamin C enhancing bioflavonoids, copper, rutin, and other co-factors that make vitamin C work better. Camu Camu is one of the most concentrated supplies of Vitamin C in the world, and a powerful antioxidant. It is ranked by Dr. James Duke as one of the most powerful, single health-giving botanical substances. Dr. Duke is a world-famous botanist who worked for the USDA’s Agricultural Research Service for 30 years while developing one of the world’s most comprehensive Phytochemical and Ethnobotanical Databases.

Probiotics: Consuming a combination of good quality probiotics (these include friendly bacteria such as: Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidus infantis, B. longum, L. bulgaricus, S. thermophilus, L. plantarum, L. salivarius, Enterococcus faecium, etc.) and cultured and fermented foods (that contain live probiotics) such as coconut and other kefirs, unpasteurized sauerkraut and kim chi, etc. will lead to enhanced immunity as the beneficial probiotic bacteria are symbiotic allies to your body that help: fight viruses, candida and other infections; produce B vitamins; and assist in detoxification. Probiotics help build up that “stress defense shield.”

We live in a time of unprecedented abundance. Through the Internet and the advancing health freedoms we are all enjoying, we have easy access to these superfoods, superherbs, and super health products.

When you start investigating and utilizing these substances consistently and regularly as part of your overall health and exercise program, you will notice that your immunity will step-by-step be enhanced. Your thoughts will have more clarity. Your overall energy will increase. You will also likely sleep better and perform better in athletic activities. Your overall productivity will improve. Digestive distress decreases. Feelings of well-being begin to dominate your life.

Superfoods and tonic superherbs can be added into anyone’s diet. Simply begin with the first one or few that you’re drawn to and go from there. Get out a blender and have fun. Make different teas with the superherbs or create new smoothies with the superfoods. Better yet, take your superherb tea and blend it with your superfoods to make the best elixirs ever. Getting healthier and healthier is fun!

RawFood

David Wolfe Interview by Alex Malinksy

Q: What are some rawfood staples in your current diet. What are some of your “favorite” foods? And If you could eat “cooked” food….what would you eat?

Original at http://www.rawguru.com/i7.html

Current staples cannot be ascertained as it changes everyday. I really never eat the same things everyday. Maybe because I am traveling so much and what is available always changes. I drink green vegetable juice whenever possible, usually celery basedŠthat¹s a staple.

My favorite foods include: wolfberries, durian, blueberries, eggfruit, mamey, cacao, celery hearts, maca, incan berries, purple corn extract (#1 in antioxidants), pure synergy (superfood blend), coconut oil, hempseed oil, macadamia nuts, parsley, romaine hearts, mint leaves, jackfruit, New Zealand honey, celtic sea salt, algae oil (DHA), MSM, seeded grapes, wild coconuts, peruvian olives, avocados, good-quality flaxseed crackers, lemons, spirulina, New Zealand bee pollen (not necessarily in that order).

Q: Can you describe to us what true hunger is? And how does one deal with overeating/bingeing on raw foods especially dry fruits and fats?

Most people eat too much dried fruit and fats to fill the empty space left by stopping the eating of cooked food. The dried fruit and the fats are heavy, dense foods that simulate that “full” feeling. Getting past that desire to be “full” is one of the first steps to conquering cooked-food addictions. It is better to be full of vegetables (salad) than to be full of dried fruit because of the sugar/hypoglycemia/diabetes problem in this culture.

The fats could be added to the vegetables (salad). Another part of overeating is mineral deficiencies and the body¹s attempt to draw minerals from food. If there are no minerals in the food then the body keeps eating until it finds those minerals. The appetite never shuts off. This is one of the reasons why I believe that wild foods, superfoods, and supplements are valuable. They can be so mineral-rich and nutrient-dense (well beyond what we would find in average organic food) that they shut down the appetite and give us what our body is really looking for.

Q: Have you changed your eating pattern since going on the rawfood diet?

Only every day! My nutrition now is much more complete. I eat a wider variety of food. Everything I eat now is well thought-out. There is a purpose to everything I eat now whether it is food, superfoods, or supplements.

Q: Have you ever had any kind of symptoms of mental illness, and, if so, what did a raw food diet with supplements get rid of, and are all mental illnesses curable with a raw foods diet/supplements??

Well according to my mom I was crazy for getting into raw-food nutrition. It seemed like the raw-food diet causes mental illness in those who are not into it! On a more serious note, raw-food nutrition, certain superfoods and supplements are valuable in healing mental illness.

Lots of green leafy vegetable juices, amino acid rich seeds such as pumpkin seeds and hemp seeds, mineral-rich foods such as kelp, superfoods such as bee pollen and other complete plant-based proteins, and DHA (algae oil) are all excellent additions.

Q: What are some of the most interesting and inspiring success stories you heard from others during your travels?

So many incredible weight loss stories. I recall one event where there were 5 women who had each lost over 100 pounds on the raw-food diet. Probably 100¹s of stories of beating cancer, heart disease, lupus, colitis with raw-food nutrition have reached my ears at this point. People have told me about how they reversed adult onset diabetes in as little as two weeks with properly balanced raw-food based nutrition.

Many, many stories of people who had lost their zest for life until they found raw-food nutrition which allowed them to feel high and happy for the first time in years. Also, I have run into many former drug addicts who, by switching to raw-food nutrition, were able to naturally achieve the high they had looked for with drugs and alcohol.

I had lunch with a famous supermodel in New York City the other day and she was saved 7 years ago by raw-food nutrition from a series of eating disorders and extremely poor health created by starvation dieting and terrible nutrition.

Q: What advice would you give to someone with cancer (esp. stomach) who is on a regular diet – less then 60% raw?

Cancer cells have as many as 6 to 17 times as many receptor sites for insulin. Insulin delivers sugar to the cells. Cancer¹s sugar hunger indicates that it is best to be on a low-sugar diet. That means no starchy food, soda, candy bars, refined sugar of any kind, no carrot or beet juice, and no sweet fruit. This is the most basic dietary approach to cancer.

Another important element to consider is Dr. Otto Warburg¹s Nobel prize-winning discovery that cancer is anaerobic. Healthy cells require oxygen. Cancer cells must have a low or no oxygen environment.

Any food or exercise that increases oxygenation is good because it helps decrease the reproduction of cancer cells. >From these two starting points: low sugar, high oxygen we can develop an entire anti-cancer program.

Q: How do you feel about female menses? Is it a natural or unnatural thing and will it stop once healthy?

My experience has shown me that little menstrual flow each month with no PMS seems to be the natural state. Lack of minerals such magnesium, iron, lack of vitamins such as vitamin B9, B12, and excessively low body fat can cause challenges with proper menses. Large doses of vitamin C can shorten or stop menses from occurring.

Q: Is it possible to reverse facial bone structure to our genetic potential/what we were born to have? Have you seen startling examples, besides yourself. How long do these kind of changes take place, and whether or not it’s just an illusion created by healthier skin, eyes, hair, not deeper structural changes. Are raw animal products required for this to happen?

In my opinion, getting back into your genetic archetype requires a complete, wide-spectrum of raw-food nutrition and fully-body mineralization over long periods of time with less and less eating. Spiritual and emotional cleansing and healing are also involved. Raw animal products are not required.

Q: How much sun do you think we need as vegans to get enough Vitamin D?

30 minutes per day on bare skin is the average.

Q: What diet advice do you have for the most common deficiency of a vegan diet? Vitamin D, A, B-12, B complex, DHA, Iron, calcium, zinc etc.?

Vitamin D: Sunlight or whole-food supplements. Vitamin A: Wolfberries, Goji Berries Vitamin B-12: Spirulina or B-12 supplements, Royal Jelly B Complex: Bee Pollen DHA: Golden Algae oil Iron: Jerusalem Artichokes, spinach, dark green leafy vegetables Calcium: Angstrom calcium, Angstrom Magnesium, Flora¹s Vegetal Silica, Dark green leafy vegetables. Zinc: Angstrom zinc, poppy seeds, pumpkin seeds, cashews.

Q: Do you have any plans to reforest the Earth with fruit trees?

Yes. We have founded a non-profit Fruit Tree Planting Foundation (www.fruittreefoundation.org) to help forward this purpose. The goal of the FTPF is to plant 18 billion fruit trees on planet Earth. Plus, what do you think we should do about the environment and how can we help individually?

Cleansing ourselves out thoroughly and completely is the best statement to make in a world where people are not having The Best Day Ever.

Q: Can you please tell us about some of your current projects you’re working on and/or developing?

Vast book projects are in the works. I am working with the staff at www.rawfood.com to bring in an entire cornucopia of exotic raw plant foods from South America. Lots of media coverage will continue to happen in the future.
